Friendship is a key aspect of life. They are your support system, who you go to in time of need, who you share memories with that can last a lifetime. In today’s society, many friendships are broken up between friends because of trust issues, or the lack of positivity that may be spread through the group. The book called A Very Special Critter by Gina and Mercer Mayer is a book about a new kid named Alex coming to class who is in a wheelchair. One kid in the class was afraid because, he had never seen someone in a wheelchair before. The kid came into class the next day and everyone thought his wheelchair was super cool. Alex made a lot of friends. The book explains that know matter what disability a child has that there will always be someone there to support him/her. A child in their wheelchair may feel lonely and get down on their self because they are not like the other kids and can’t do what the rest of their friends are doing. However, that is not true, in today’s society, there are many sports and activities available for kids who have a disability. Sometimes making new friends can be overwhelming and scary at times. To what extent is Arthur Miller’s ‘All My Sons’ a critique of the American Dream Arthur Miller was an American playwright and was a prominent figure in America until his recent death in 2005. It was at this time of his death that Miller was considered one of the greatest American playwrights. In 1947, after his disastrous play – ‘The man who had all the luck’, ‘All My Sons’ was published, which brought Miller recognition and was the start of his successful career. ‘All My Sons’ is set after World War 2 and touches on The Great Depression, which was a decade of ‘dramatic and worldwide economic downturn beginning in some countries as early as 1928’. The United States does not subject her citizens to oppression, a defined class system, or a limit to one’s potential. There is no supreme leader demanding complete submission and no government entity funneling the populace’s wealth for a centralized, undisclosed reason. Rather, America boasts the image of the self-made, autonomous entrepreneur. Through hard work and dedication, any person can achieve limitless success despite current financial status. It is for this reason that many illegal immigrants are willing to risk everything for themselves and their families. There is but one, simple thing standing between the land of opportunity and any man, and that is the written consent of Uncle Sam himself. All of America’s wondrous aspects and ideals may seem too good to be true, and for man y, they will be no more than a dream. For others, the allure is too great, despite legality.
